Hartt Transportation Systems (HTS) begun almost fifty years ago with only a truck drove by Delmont Hartt in Bangor, Maine. He was only 17 years old when he started transporting freight like wood and gravel.
Today, Hartt Transportation Systems has grown tremendously and has become one of the largest transportation companies in the US. It has 300 tractors, 915 trailers and most importantly 350 dedicated employees.
At the moment, the company is directed by William Hartt (son of the founder) as the president since 1995, Aaron Wiles as Operations Manager and Jeff Castonguay as General Manager. Delmont still oversees all operations as CEO.
They offer services to handle freight within the 48 states and Canada with a concentrated effort on inbound/outbound freight to and from the Northeast and Canadian provinces of Ontario, Quebec and Maritime Canada. Their equipment is late model, consisting of 53 and 48 air ride well-maintained dry van trailers, 45 flatbeds and 25 tri-axle trailers.
The American Trucking Associations Safety Management Council, the Maine Motor Transport Association and Reliance Insurance Company had recognized the labor of the company annually since 1991 for its superior safety record. Its interesting to know that all their units have the Global Position System (GPS), and they expect to give a better service with this new tool.
