Coastal Transport Company began in 1942 with one terminal in Corpus Christi, Texas. Today, the headquarters are located in San Antonio, Texas, with more than 600 employees in twenty terminals and ten satellite terminals across Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California.
Coastal fleet consists of over 492 tank trailers and 414 tractors. All the tractors are less than 3 years old. They believe that this maintains the quality and gives a safe performance.

The requirements needed to become a driver at Coastal Transport are: to present a valid Class a Commercial Drivers License (391.11) for state of domicile with X endorsement (tanker and Hazmat). Western Division may require doubles and triples (T) endorsement. A photocopy must accompany the application. If there is an accident in your history, a complete written statement of the accident is necessary prior to processing your application, must be at least 23 years old; have a telephone where applicant may be reached for dispatch orders; the driver must be clean shaven and it is permissible to wear a neatly groomed mustache and/or goatee; at least one (1) year driving experience out of the last two (2) years or two (2) years of driving experience out of the last four (4) years of employment - driving a tractor-trailer or the equivalent. Applicants with extensive driving experience will be considered; must agree to purchase uniforms, as prescribed by the company; and the application for Employment must be completely filled out. The discovery of false information on the application will be grounds for immediate dismissal.
