Safety Kits in Demand as Company Vehicles get Emergency & Disaster Kits

Fortune 500 companies and Mom & Pop operations alike are rushing to outfit their company vehicles with safety kits. High levels of uncertainty and recent high magnitude natural disasters have motivated companies to ensure that their vehicles and drivers are prepared for emergencies and disasters.

Tucson, AZ (PRWEB) January 23, 2006 -- Fortune 500 companies and Mom & Pop operations alike are rushing to outfit their company vehicles with safety kits. Homeland security issues and recent devastating natural disasters have caused high levels of uncertainty in the United States. Many Fortune 500 companies are making significant investments outfitting their vehicle fleets with safety kits. Companies both large and small find themselves evaluating the safety of their vehicle fleets; some for the first time. It is not surprising that most vehicle fleets don't even have the very basic first aid items.

This emphasis on emergency preparedness has had an effect on warehouse shelves. Safety Store Manager, Phil Bregman, reports that shortages of road flares, water packets and fire extinguishers have made it nearly impossible to keep up with the demand.

Not only businesses are fueling the demand for Safety Kits. Consumers frantically reacted post 9/11 and were the first to hoard safety products. Consumers bought gas masks and other safety items by the case. Today however, many consumers are purchasing safety products for their homes and cars for the first time.

Safety kits and first aid kits should be kept well-stocked in your home and cars at all times. Basic supplies are essential in the event of an emergency. To be prepared, have safety kits available in the home and in each car. Your kit should be highly visible and easily accessible for adults. The first step toward being prepared is to organize a well rounded supply of basic first aid items.
