In 1963 Frank C. Alegre started operations in California in the transport industry with only one truck under the name Alegre Trucking Inc. (ATI). By 1973, it became an active California Corporation. Today, this company dispatches 150 units and 250 sets of trailers (of its own), but it also maintains contracts with many owner operators drivers. The companys main office is located in the San Joaquin Valley in Lodi, California, with terminals in Northern California in Stockton and Fresno.
The main service of Alegre Trucking is the transport of construction products, food products and materials. For these services the company works in divisions like Cement. It hauls all types of powered cement as well as calcium carbonate and sand. The fleet for this division consists of pneumatic tankers that service ready-mix-plants, pre-cast concrete plants, concrete pipe plants, tile company plants, etc. Transfer division is specialized in hauling all types of rock, dirt, sand, road salt, asphalt, driveway rock, topsoil, landscaping soils, large garden rock, rip rap and others. And the Bottom-Dumps division can haul the same type of products as the Transfer division except rip rap; Bottom-Dumps can not maneuver and back up like the transfers.
Foodgrade distribution is divided into four separate sub-divisions. Plastic: they haul all types of plastic, from pellets to powder resin; for this Alegre Trucking has several rail sites throughout Northern California. Liquid: this division transports products such as sugar from silos, molasses from silos and railcars as well as cooking oils. Pneumatics: it transports commodities like flour and sugar. Finally, there is the Vacuum division that transports sugar, flour, plastics and resins.
