RICHMOND, VA, May 5 On Tuesday, April 12, 2005, Estes Express Lines was honored with six awards at the Transportation Sales & Marketing Association (TSMA) 2005 Communication Awards competition. The competition took place during TSMAs Annual Conference at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate in Orlando, Florida.
The competition recognizes transportation service providers and firms offering products or services to the transportation industry for excellence in their advertising and marketing programs. Newt Barrett of Logistics Today magazine presented Estes with the six awards. The first five included first place in Overall Campaign, second place in Public Relations, first and third places in Specialty Items and third place in Calendars (Wall or Desk). The sixth award was in a new category, Best in Show. Winners in this category are selected by TSMA conference attendees. Estes won in this category for its overall marketing and sales campaign, "Its a Whole New Ball Game."
A panel of advertisers, artists, designers and other marketing professionals judged 118 entries in eleven categories and provided written evaluations critiquing each entry. Judging was based on how well the entry met the stated objective of its category, its results and its overall effectiveness. Entries were compared with those from companies of similar size and resources.
"We are one of the few companies in our size category that actually does our own marketing in-house rather than using an advertising or marketing firm, so were really very proud of our awards," said Estes Vice President of Corporate Communications Trish Garland. "And, its an especially great honor to be chosen by your peers for Best in Show," she added.
