A wide range of IT end-user companies and organizations responded to an initial "call for nominations," which was originally announced to multiple industry audiences. The finalists were evaluated by a panel of mobile and wireless experts, industry editors, and IT business analysts in each of the categories based on their mobile and wireless achievements, which were measured against criteria such as return on investment, strategic/substantive importance to the business, customer impact, positive impact on other business/organization units and ability to address challenges of data, information and application security, recovery and business continuity.
