DEERFIELD, Ill., April 4/Alliant Foodservice, Inc., a subsidiary of Alliant Exchange, Inc. and one of the nation's largest broadline
foodservice distributors, will open a new distribution facility in Charlotte, North Carolina, that will double the warehouse capacity in that market and substantially increase the product lines available. By the end of the year, a full line of equipment and small wares will be available in order to provide
one-stop shopping for foodservice providers.
The new facility is expected to be operational by the second quarter of 2001. It will serve a market area that includes parts of North and South Carolina as well as Knoxville, Tennessee, and southwestern Virginia.

The move will also create additional employment opportunities in many areas, including positions for the sales force, warehouse workers, and drivers.
