Alliant Foodservice Names Larry H. Wiener as President of its Arizona Market

DEERFIELD, Ill., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Larry H. Wiener, president of the Oklahoma City District of Alliant Foodservice since 1990, was named president of the company's Phoenix market, effective immediately.  In his new role, Wiener is responsible for all Alliant activities in Arizona and parts of
Nevada, as well as for the operations of City Meat & Provision Co. and Barone Foods.

Wiener joined the then Kraft Foodservice as a territory sales manager in the Dallas market in 1980, becoming, in turn, a major/national accounts manager, vice president of procurement and vice president of sales for the
district before moving to his Oklahoma City assignment. "Larry is one of our most experienced market presidents and a true leader," said Frank A. Patton, president of the West Division. "He will play a key role in our profitable growth in Arizona.  I'm delighted that he has accepted the assignment."

Before joining Alliant, Wiener was director of purchasing for Affiliated Clubs and Restaurants.  He also managed a hotel kitchen and was an apprentice chef.  Wiener holds a B.S. degree in business administration from the University of Northern Colorado.

Alliant Exchange is one of the nation's largest business-to-business e-commerce and information exchange companies, with total sales of more than $6 billion. The company, one of the largest privately held enterprises in the
United States, has four operating segments -- Alliant Foodservice, Inc., a leading broadline foodservice distributor; The Drescher Corporation, a foodservice distribution company; AlliantLink.com, Inc., an Internet-based
service that provides 24/7 access to a catalog of 135,000 foodservice stock-keeping units and value-added services; and NextGen Markets, Inc., a developer and operator of private branded B2B portals.
