Dalton Trucking Company started operations in 1963 as a little transportation company and was incorporated in 1977. Dalton has grown into a company that makes $32 million per year, has 200 trucks, and 350 employees, its most important resource.
They offer services in open top bulk transportation, lowbed, general freight, on flatbeds and vans, as well rail service, intermodal and 3PL services. Dalton delivers with equipment composed of loader, dozers, blades and water trucks. It also provides warehousing, inventory control, and transportation by rail or truck; some of the commodities currently handled are: steel, paper goods, lumber, canned goods, machinery and others.
The DTCs newest facility is the Dalton Logistical Services (DLS), located in Southern California. This is the first public warehouse service to the West Colton Yard of Union Pacific. This service is an effort by the Union Pacific Railroad and Dalton Trucking to serve mutual customers. As the majority of the transportation and logistics companies, Dalton thinks the most important value is the excellence of the customer service.
DTC also operates a facility in Adelanto, CA. It consists of ten acres for dispatch office, fuel island rack and parking for over 25 trucks. This terminal gives service to the High Desert, Central and Northern California, with some hauls to Las Vegas and Arizona.
