Armellini Express Lines Inc was founded in 1945 by Jules Toots Armellini and his wife Sarah. They began carrying flowers from Vineland, New Jersey into Philadelphia and New York City with a single truck and a terminal that was a barn. As the business was growing and a little fleet of trucks expanded, New England was added to their service area. By the 50s they began transporting their products from Florida and so they moved their headquarters there. Jules helped with the design of the first flower specific refrigeration unit for trailers. He also helped with the first use of a wooden deck, which splits the trailer to relieve pressure on the flower boxes and promotes air circulation.
Today with a fleet of 150 trucks, the Armellini's second generation is on charge of the operations of all the companies encompassed by Armellini Express Lines, J.A. Flower Service Inc., Fresco Service Inc. and NorthStar Transportation Inc. They are also one of the biggest floral transportation companies in the US.
Every single truck of Armellini Express Lines is equipped with the Qualcomm Satellite Tracking. This allows for a constant communication with the unit and the main dispatch office. This is very important because in this way the driver and the office can be informed and respond quickly to road emergencies, traffic, weather, etc. All trailers have also been outfitted with a special transmitter for get instant reports of abnormal temperatures or any other kind of problem that affect the flowers inside the trailer. At the same time, the client can access all the information to know where the truck with the respective load is.
Armellini Express Lines considers that its success is due to its commitment to customers. This is the reason why today they are the largest carrier in the floral industry.
