Covenant Transport proudly announces Arif Islam as a 2.2 Million Mile safe driver. Throughout his eleven-year career with Covenant, Islam has proven himself by continually going above and beyond expectations. He attributes his success to God and the prayers of his family and co-workers.
Because he has spent much of his career as a trainer, Islam is accustomed to giving advice. He says that drivers should be patient with their company and give them time to prove themselves. He suggests not getting upset and leaving right away. Above all, Islam says drivers should be safe and pay extra attention to the road at all times. Drivers have safety in their hands, he says.
While away from the road, this hard-working truck driver says getting rest is the most important thing. He also enjoys watching movies, eating at his favorite restaurants and visiting with friends. Islam loves that he is able to go home to his native Pakistan twice a year. Last year, he was able to make one six-week trip and another for two and a half weeks. During these vacations, Islam is able to visit family members who still live in Pakistan, including his mother, brothers and two sons.
When asked his long-term plans, Islam says, If I quit trucking, then I will quit Covenant. He plans to join the Highway Watch program and is scheduled to begin next month.
Solo drivers earn up to .48 cpm to start (includes safety bonus).
