When Watsontown Trucking Co. began operations in 1949 they only had three trucks and three trailers to haul coal and bricks. The company has been growing up since then; today they have a fleet of 175 trucks and over 400 trailers that can carry virtually anything to anywhere in the continental U.S. WTC is located in Milton, Pennsylvania and is also a privately owned 100% asset-based company.
This small company operates with a staff of over 25 people that are on charge of the everyday work. The company is very small, but they are growing up very fast; they specialize in just in time and safe freight deliveries. They offer their services from their main office in Milton to any point in the 48 states; WTC is periodically trying to get the best technology so that they can offer a better service to their clients.
Additionally, specialized flatbeds services including loads that require over height width permits are available; they also offer the EDI system (Electronic Data Interchange) to provide automatic tendering, tracking and billings of loads in order to reduce the paperwork between the shipper and the carrier. The maintenance of the fleet used to offer these services is made by 12 mechanics of the company.
The company has achieved several recognitions for their professional customer service and quality; for example for two consecutive years (2000-2001) they got the 11th place of the martin Labbe best run U.S. companies.
