C&S Wholesale Grocers Golf Outing Helps Children Overcome Cancer

    Keene, NH - August 11, 2005 - Continuing its commitment to children's cancer research and treatment, C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc. announced donations made through its 20th annual Charity Golf Outing. Funds raised at this years milestone golf outing were the largest ever and totaled $250,000 for:

          Childrens Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD) in Lebanon, NH $150,000 for the pediatric oncology unit

         The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Jimmy Fund in Boston, MA $75,000 toward childrens cancer research

         The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Ashford, CT $25,000 general support for this innovative camp geared to children with cancer

    After golfing, over 500 C&S customers, vendors and food industry leaders were joined at dinner by representatives of each organization to learn more about medical advancements in the field of childrens cancer. A highlight included inspiring presentations by three local families whose young children are cancer survivors.

    Ron Wright, Co-President and Chief Operating Officer of C&S, attended the golf events held in Massachusetts and Vermont and said, "Were deeply moved by the dedication of the teams at CHaD, Dana-Farber, and The Hole in the Wall Camp. Theyre on the frontlines of searching for a cure and theyre bringing hope and encouragement to many families and children bravely battling cancer. Everyone at C&S is appreciative that our customers and vendors stepped up so generously for our golf tournaments twentieth anniversary to help make a difference for the kids.
