Based in Livonia, Michigan, Ryan Transportation has come a long way since being founded as a local food hauler back in 1970. Yes, back almost 35 years ago, Ryan Transportation began operations as a Detroit-area food hauler. Today, this company has grown into a transportation company with four separate divisions. The four divisions of Ryan Transportation are: AXI Truckload; AXI Expedite; Cavalier Cartage; and Industrial Switching.

AXI Truckload is the owner-operator truckload division for Ryan Transportation. AXI Truckload operates mostly in the northern and central United States, as well as Ontario. AXI Truckload offers these services: freight consolidation; peddle runs; just-in-time transportation; truckload; less than truckload; consolidation; overnight delivery; cross-dock intermodal; distribution throughout Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Canada.

Currently, Ryan Transportation is looking for Owner-Operators (both teams and solos) to drive for the AXI Truckload Division. The pay rate is 83 cents per mile (loaded or empty). Other benefits to being a truck driver for Ryan Transportation’s AXI Truckload Division include: $250 sign-on bonus (after 6 months on the job); $250 more after one year on the job; $1000 bonus, after one year, as a reimbursement for plates; fuel surcharge; weekly settlements; dedicated runs; no touch freight; paid permits; paid tolls (on all approved routes); non-forced dispatch; cargo and liability insurance provided.

To be eligible for a truck driving job with Ryan Transportation’s AXI Truckload Division, you must have two years of OTR experience, you must have a good driving record, and you must be at least 23 years of age.

Ryan Transportation is currently hiring truck drivers out of these states: Illinois; Indiana; Kentucky; Michigan; New York; Ohio; and Ontario, Canada.

Other divisions at Ryan Transportation include AXI Expedite. This is Ryan Transportation’s small truck Owner-Operator division. Drivers for this division drive small one-ton vans all the way up to 24-foot straight trucks. These brokers are paid a percentage of the revenue that the load generates.

The other two divisions of Ryan Transportation are both members of the Teamsters Union. The Industrial Switching Division pays drivers on a per-move basis, while the Cavalier Cartage Division pays drivers on an hourly basis. Both divisions offer excellent benefits packages.
