Schneider National offers the most comprehensive truck driving training program in the industry for inexperienced drivers, including classroom and over-the-road instruction. Refresher and seasonal courses are also available for all company drivers and owner operators. That's one reason why Schneider leads the industry in safety.
***Based on feedback from trainees, Schneider National increased its training salary by $300 and pays it out sooner in the hiring/training program. The pay changes provide you with income right after your date-of-hire and more income during your first weeks as a professional driver.***
To ensure that drivers’ weekly earnings are predictable and consistent during the early stages of their careers, Schneider National also provides a minimum weekly salary of $500 for drivers’ first eight weeks following initial training. Drivers will earn $500 or mileage pay, whichever is higher, per week.
For those who need a Commercial Driver License (CDL), Schneider offers:
Free transportation from the Operating Center nearest you:

Company-paid training program to help you obtain your CDL
Free motel arrangements
Two meals provided each day during the program
Skid pad training to practice bad weather driving
In-truck training with a training engineer for 1-2 weeks (you'll pick up and deliver actual loads and receive a salary during this portion of the training program)
Before attending the Schneider Training Academy, all trainees must obtain a CDL permit and Hazmat Endorsement. This includes studying for and taking a written examination. Study guides are available at a local Department of Motor Vehicles office.
As part of Schneider National's investment in you to attend the company-paid training program, you will be required to sign an agreement to drive with Schneider National for one year after training is completed. If you do not drive for a full year, you will be responsible for re-paying the cost of the training program.
