Dollar Tree Stores Recognizes Superior Customer Service; Presents Swift with Two Prestigious Awards

PHOENIX, Mar 2, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Swift Transportation Co. Inc. (Nasdaq: SWFT) is proud to announce that it has earned two prestigious awards from Dollar Tree Stores Inc.
    --  Inbound Carrier of the Year for 2004

    --  Outbound Carrier of the Year for 2004

The coveted Inbound Carrier of the Year award is presented to a carrier delivering from a manufacturer to Dollar Tree's distribution centers recognizing on-time pickup as the primary criteria.

In discussing the Inbound Carrier of the Year award, Dean Jones, vice president of transportation for Dollar Tree, said, "Dollar Tree is pleased to present Swift Transportation with the Dollar Tree Stores' Inbound Carrier of the Year Award for 2004. The prestigious Outbound Carrier award is presented to a carrier delivering from Dollar Tree's distribution centers to the 2,700-plus Dollar Tree retail stores. Service, utilization, backhauls and damage-free merchandise delivery are the key factors for determining the award recipient.
