At Southern Refrigerated Transport, we know that our drivers are the heart of our company and without them there would be no SRT. The number one priority for our drivers is to drive, not to load and unload 6 or 7 times per week. If the truck isn't rolling, you can't make money, and if you aren't making money, neither is the company. That is why our dispatchers schedule your trips so that your average length of haul is 1200 miles, and load you with freight that is 99% no touch.

SRT Company Driver Benefits:

$.05 cpm Hazmat pay for all placarded loads
$100 paid for crossing across Canadian Border
$16 per hour detention paid after the 1st 2 hours at shipper or receiver – 8 hour max.
$10 Drop Pay after the first and last delivery
$60 Layover pay after 24 hours beginning at 5 p.m.
Per diem only company
Trainer Pay - $.03cpm at end of the Training Program

2006 and newer Freightliner Conventional Condos and Mid Roofs
Over 700 tractors
All of which are air-ride equipped
Each truck is installed with QUALCOMM'S Omni-Tracks satellite communications system
PRE-PASS DOT automatic weigh system
E-Z PASS system for the east coast tolls and bridges

SRT Company Driver Requirements:

Have a current Class A CDL License
Have at least 6 months OTR experience
OR
Be a recent graduate of a CDL school*
At least 23 years of age
Have a good driving record
Pass DOT drug screen and physical requirements
No criminal convictions (misdemeanors including DUI’s and DWI’s) within the last 5 years.
FELONIES- None in the last 5 years
NO SEXUAL or ARMED offenses EVER
No more than 3 moving violations in the last three years
No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last three years
Must meet or exceed all federal, state, insurance and company policies, rules or regulations for qualification

*Drivers with less than 6 months OTR experience will be reviewed to go on as a trainee
