Mike Friedly was hired by the Interstate Transport to be its new Chief Operating Officer. As Interstate Logistics beef up its suite of logistics products, its management team has increased in order to offer customers with the best-in-class service they have come to expect from the transportation leader. At the beginning, Mr. Friedly will concentrate on bolstering Interstate's asset based, temperature-controlled trucking offering for clients in a market of fastly declining capacity.
Tim Duncan has taken the role as the
company's Chief Commerce Officer where he will concentrate on new
business development and on offering solutions that fit customers'
unique requirements, as part of the company's expansion
Before coming to Interstate, Mr. Friedly came from Greatwide Logistics in Dallas. He was the Vice President of Operations of the said company. In that position of responsibility, he managed 15 locations across the United States and 125 million in transportation spend.Greatwide runs nearly 5,000 trucks and concentrates on grocery retailers and wholesalers.
Before his time at Greatwide, he was
National Sales Executive for Ceva Logistics and Director of Customer
Logistics for Ryder Logistics. Mr. Friedly earned a Master of
Business Administration degree from Webster University in St. Louis,
According to President and CEO of Interstate, Tim Higham, "With CSA, EOBR legislation, new HOS rules pending, a stressful economic climate, and other constraints, truck capacity is expected to continue its decline over the next few years. We are already seeing significant capacity reductions causing higher rates across the nation. Mike has the necessary fleet experience to lead our asset division in the direction our customers expect. Under his leadership, our customers will receive real solutions at the right price so they can concentrate on their core business and let Interstate move their freight."
Mr. Friedly's expertise in large fleet management, custom client solutions, and day-to-day operations will allow him to lead the asset division to meet demand. Being the COO, Mr. Friedly will fine tune consolidated operations programs so that Interstate's Trucking, Logistics and Technology sectors work together seamlessly. This strategy will supply customers with lock stock and barrel solutions and consistent service and support.
