FedEx Freight Receives Key Awards from Lowe's Home Warehouse

Leading LTL Carrier Honored for Service, Reliability, Solutions and Quality Excellence

MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 8, 2005--FedEx Freight, a leading provider of regional and interregional less-than-truckload (LTL) services in the U.S. and a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), has been named the recipient of the Lowe's LTL Program Development Award and Lowe's 2005 Gold Carrier Award.

"We strive to ensure we provide nothing but the best customer experience, and Lowe's has recognized the commitment and effort demonstrated by thousands of FedEx Freight team members who are dedicated to achieving that goal across the country," said Douglas G. Duncan, president and CEO of FedEx Freight.

In determining the recipient of each award, Lowe's evaluates carriers using several metrics, including service performance, problem resolution, information technology solutions, expedited delivery, dedicated support development and logistics-related program development.

The awards were presented to FedEx Freight at the Lowe's Core Carrier Conference in Wilkesboro, N.C., in January. FedEx Freight has been a core carrier for Lowe's since 1994.

"FedEx consistently achieved our performance expectations, and their commitment to supporting our business in turn helps us better serve customers with in-stock merchandise," said Rob Long, Lowe's director of LTL transportation.
