Payne & Dolan, Inc., a professional construction services company, has served the needs of its clients and customers for over 70 years. Headquartered in Waukesha, Wisconsin, Payne and Dolan is a leader in producing and providing asphalt pavement services and products. It is dedicated to quality, safety and leadership in a competitive industry. Safety is one of Payne & Dolan's three strategic corporate goals. Not only is the company concerned and aware of its employee's safety, it also has been conscientious to the safety of the traveling public. Payne & Dolan's principal product is hot mix asphalt (HMA) for short. HMA consists of a predetermined combination of crushed aggregate, air and liquid asphalt cement. HMA is produced in large quantities in an asphalt plant. Proper design of mixes, including the determination of the proper type, size, shape and combination of aggregates and liquid asphalt cement is necessary if the pavement is to handle design loads. Mixes must also meet special customer requirements. Payne & Dolan has completed so many small and large projects in its history; the members of the staff are very experienced in managing construction work. As in independent service, Payne & Dolan offers its clients and customers construction management services without actually performing any of the work. Pavement Management is a process by which you, as the owner of a facility with roads and parking areas, can rate the condition of your pavements and maintains an acceptable level of service and appearance. When entering the planning stages of a new parking lot, Payne & Dolan's qualified, licensed engineers are ready to advise customers on long term, critical factors such as quality of mix, recommended thickness of product, alternatives to design and drainage considerations. Although Payne & Dolan does not do small, residential work, it does provide quality products and expertise to company's that do this type of work. Payne & Dolan has the ability to produce a high quality product. By owning and managing company operated asphalt plants and aggregate sources, Payne & Dolan has control over the product and thus assuring that the customer will receive the best material to meet the specific need. Payne & Dolan has received eleven Diamond Achievement Commendations for Excellence in Hot Mix Plant/Site Operations awards from the National Asphalt Pavement Association. This assessment program covers six aspects of plant/site operations: appearance; permitting and regulatory compliance; environmental practices; operations; safety; and community relations. Management style is open door but not over-the-shoulder. This gives employees the flexibility to expand and grow with the company. Many positions give the individual the ability to "run their own show" knowing that support and resources are available to assist them. This is one of the reasons that this company has been so successful for so long.
