The company was formed in 1981 and now AGX has become the largest independent airfreight cartage company in Pennsylvania. They now operate three terminals: Clarion, Altoona with the major business arrangement overseen by their corporate headquarters in Clinton, adjacent to the Pittsburgh Airport. AGX operates over 150 power units ranging from cargo vans to 53' trailers. Their wide range of specialty equipment includes liftgate trucks, air ride, rollerized, and flatbed trailers.
AGX is a customs bonded carrier that offers exclusive use and hotshot deliveries anywhere in the United States and Canada. Their line haul division provides overnight service to JFK, Newark, and Philadelphia Airports. Air Ground Xpress is an authorized agent for a number of airlines and freight forwarders, including companies like Bax Global, Emery, Danzas-AEI, to name only a few.  AGX has also incorporated yet another service to make the lives of their patrons a bit easier by extending an additional service called the Inter-Company Move Program; through this, AGX can provide overnight delivery to your customers in Western Pennsylvania at rates competitive with common carrier truckers.
The companyÂâ€Ã¢„¢s corporate headquarters are strategically located near Pittsburgh International Airport. The impressive building is situated on a 6 acre plot and consists of 22,000 sq. ft. of office and warehouse space which is inclusive of 5,000 sq. ft. of customs bonded secure space. The warehouse area has thirty one dock doors laid out for a cross-dock operation and the note worthy point about these are that the doors are designed to accommodate aircraft pallets and containers. AGX utilizes a 4000 sq. ft. maintenance facility with three full size truck bays. This facility operates round the clock and in all those 24 hours, keeps up the dedicated work of keeping their fleet in top mechanical condition.

The Altoona Terminal, which had started operations in 1985 to service the Johnstown, Altoona, and State College areas, has been witness to many changes and levels of growth since its inception. From humble beginnings, the operation moved into its own facility on Old Rt. 22 in Duncansville, PA and now this terminal rests upon a vast, well designed 6 acres, and consists of a 7000 sq. ft. building with 6 dock doors set up for cross dock operations.
