Eastern Metal Supply Inc (EMS) was started in 1982 by Susie Walsh and Greg Weekes. To start with EMS had only five employees and since then has grown to employ over 200. EMS single Florida location has turned into six nation-wide service centers with over 400,000 square feet of distribution and manufacturing space and over twelve million pounds of inventory. EMS has a reputation throughout the United States as a first-class supplier of aluminum products based upon the principles of service and quality. At EMS goals are three-fold; to support customers profitably through the sale of high quality aluminum products; to provide a healthy work environment for employees; and to make a positive contribution to the community. EMS North Carolina services the Southeastern, Midatlantic, and Northeastern United States as well as Kentucky, Ohio, and Eastern Canada.
In 1989, EMS Charlotte, North Carolina branch was opened for better service to customers outside the state of Florida and Canada. In 1995, EMS opened Houston, Texas branch with 28,000 square feet, due to a rapid increase in sales, EMS expanded its Texas location to 80,000 sq. ft. in May 2004. In January of 1999, EMS opened a new branch office in St. Louis, Missouri. EMS of Lake Worth, Florida, a supplier of aluminum extrusions had along with small groups of customers, tested a "Big Bertha" accordion shutter.
The Vice President of EMS, Greg Weekes, scaled down the blade and engineered new components to make the accordion system reasonable for residential use.
EMS is one of the largest national distributors of aluminum extrusions with over 2,000 custom & standard extrusions available.
In 2005, EMS expanded to meet the needs and expectations of the customers. EMS corporate office broke grounds in June 2005 on a 40,000 square foot expansion; 32,000 square feet will be will allotted to EMS warehouse while the remaining 8,000 will strengthen EMS office space. This will bring EMSÂâ€Ã¢„¢s total square footage to 146,000 in Lake Worth, Florida.
For aluminum extrusion, EMS is the supplier one should look for that delivers quality products to customers.
