Since 1944, Yoder Lumber Co., Inc. has been a family owned business producing highest quality hardwood lumber with third generation YoderÂâ€Ã¢„¢s involved.
In Ohio, Yoder Lumber has always been a respected name in the lumber business. The company and all of its employees work hard to achieve the highest quality service. The entire process of harvesting, cutting, drying, and even dimensioning of the lumber takes place within the companies own facility where quality can be monitored.
In 1944, John J. Yoder started with a portable sawmill that used to saw construction lumber for the local farmers when they wanted to build new buildings and then proceeded from that into buying timber from landowners and sawing furniture grade lumber, railroad ties, and still some construction lumber. The next generation Yoder boys enjoyed spending time watching and helping the employees operate the mill and learned all aspects of lumbering.
They have three sites located within 10 miles of each other in Holmes County. This gives them the opportunity to diversify product line. All the employees are provided with some of the latest equipment and technology to assist them in the manufacturing process assuring quality finished goods.
Yoder Lumber's specialty is fine quality Appalachian Hardwood lumber, Red Oak, White Oak, Poplar, Cherry, Walnut, Hard Maple, Soft Maple, and several other species. Each year Yoder Lumber produces about 10.5 million board feet of lumber, ranging in thickness from 4/4 to 16/4, which is either dried in dry kilns, approximately 8 million board feet or sold green. A fleet of 12 trucks is available for prompt delivery throughout Ohio and surrounding states.
With three locations, each location is currently performing a different part of the production process that our lumber goes through.
If a customer has standing timber in Ohio and wants to harvest professionally, Yoder Lumber Co Inc. is the name one should look for.
