Joe and Louie Kane began a company called Kane Brothers in 1949, these two men had only one truck and they hauled gasoline and fuel oil from Minneapolis to Western Minnesota and Eastern North Dakota for the next 14 years of the existence of the company. A second truck was added seventeen years later in 1966 and a third truck and four employees were added in 1972. From then on they have been adding approximately 2 trucks per year to the fleet.
