Aztech Electric Inc.


Aztech Electric was founded in 1967 and incorporated in 1968 as an Electrical Line Contractor by David Balch, an Engineer employed by Washington Water Power and Andrew Dahlman, a Project Manager employed by a local electrical contractor; the former as President and Dahlman as Operations Manager. That structure continued until 1982, at which time Balch retired and Dahlman became President.

Aztech Electric's offices were located in Spokane, Washington, at 104 North Hutchinson with 2,000 sq. ft. of office, 5,000 sq. ft. of warehouse, and 3,000 sq. ft. of shop until 1992 when the company moved to 5204 East Broadway where the facilities include 12,000 sq. ft. of office, 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse, 5,000 sq. ft. tool storage and repair and 7,000 sq. ft. vehicle repair situated on a spacious 3.5 acres. 

Over the past 37 years Aztech has completed electrical contracts for a number of major commercial and industrial projects in the Western United States and has work for most of the utility companies in the Northwest in virtually every area of electrical construction. Some recently completed projects include the Summit Hotel in Big Sky, MT; Starwood Hotel in Seattle, Umatilla County Criminal Justice Facility in Umatilla, OR. Currently, the company is working on projects in the Eastern Washington - E.O.U. Science Center, St. Anthony's Hospital, Opportunity Presbyterian Church, Wal-Mart Food Distribution Center and U of W Morrill Hall. The company has worked for the U.S. Government as well as public utilities, i.e. Bonneville Power Administration, Avista Utilities, Kootenai Electric Cooperative, Ferry County, Chelan County, Grant County and Douglas County. Aztech has previously bonded single projects greater than $10,000,000 and their largest single project to date has been Kaiser Trentwood Mill Renovation with a total cost in excess of $300,000,000 of which the electrical portion was in the $45,000,000 range.

AztechÂâ€Ã¢„¢s safety policy is simple and effective: treat it as a value and strive to produce a zero incident environment. All employees are dedicated to participating in the ongoing education and safety specific training conducted on a weekly basis. There is also a full time company Safety Officer whose duties are to assure conformance to company plan and continuously update and modify it to stay ahead of the latest and best safety ideas and methods. An Insurance company loss control specialist works with him to continuously find new ways to prevent accidents in the work place.
