G&P Trucking Company is a regional transportation company whose main business is truckload freight. G & P Trucking Co Inc was founded in Greenwood, South Carolina, in 1936 by H.P. Mabry and Arthur Rush primarily to haul cotton to Grendel and Panola Mills. This is how the name G&P started. It was bought by W.T. Cassels, Jr. and family in September 1986. Since then G&P has doubled its tractor and trailer fleet and widely expanded its geographic base of operation leading to increased revenues. The Company transports a wide variety of general commodities. G&P has expanded its operating base from South Carolina to the southern state of Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida and continues to expand to other states as well. The Company operates terminals in Charleston, Columbia, Anderson, and Greer, South Carolina; Savannah and Atlanta, Georgia; and Charlotte, North Carolina. Companies also have terminals in Johnson City, Tennessee and Norfolk, Virginia. The home office and executive offices are located in Gaston, South Carolina.
 
The company provides uniforms to the company drivers who operate all equipment owned by G&P. G&P specialize in the just-in-time inventory concept of one-day service. They provide their customers with the same benefits that the customer would normally have if they had their own fleet but without the liability risk, added personnel, and other cost factors a company fleet would entail.
