The company began in 1989 as an entrepreneurial idea as most start-up trucking companies start with in order that one day they will have a place in the marketplace to survive. Magnum Express, Inc. was incorporated in Indiana in December of 1997 and applied to the Federal Highway Administration for a 48 state, irregular-route, contract motor carrier operating authority that same month. Spanning the next four months, the company found a building from which it could operate, secured insurance coverage and a line of credit and subsequently took delivery on 35 brand new trailers                        
 
Magnum Express' primary operating area covers Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin and North Carolina. The company provides short to medium haul "JIT"(Just in Time) service to a variety of industries as it operates modern, well-maintained power units and 53' long, 102' wide trailers ensuring On-Time, On-Purpose service; in part, made possible to a great extent due to the fact that it is a safety-conscience, completely Owner-Operator company.

The company makes every effort to speed up the supply chain with cross-dock and Trans load services. Regardless of the inbound or outbound transportation modes, Magnum can quickly and efficiently unload, check, rework and reship products to their final destinations. Magnum has over 25,000 square feet of warehouse space and so the ability to store company products of all kinds, whether on skids or non-stackable. The Warehouse and Distribution Features include a Monitored Fire and Burglar Alarm System, Dock and Ground Doors, 2 high dock truck doors, 2500lb fork truck on sight apart from the spacious area it provides.
