Lumber Products is a company committed to providing quality hardwood products and building materials at a fair price while providing excellent service. It was started in Portland, Oregon in 1938 by Ernest E. Hall and his son, Ernest L. Hall, after realizing that the millwork business they were in needed wholesale distributors to get product to the end user. When the founders stepped down from company management, Ernest L. Hall's son, Leonard, took over as general manager until 1984, when his son Peter became the third generation of the Hall family to lead the company. Craig J. Hall, who represents the fourth generation, joined the firm in 1989 which has current employee strength of over six hundred.
 
This family-owned and operated company distributed high-quality hardwood lumber and plywood to its customers and has tasted success such that it enabled them to expand its product lines considerably to meet changing needs of the marketplace- now distributing a large variety of building and construction products, with clients that include pre-hung door companies, millwork fabricators, and cabinet manufacturers, retail building material outlets and O.E.M.'s.
 
With growth in business, facilities were expanded and distribution branches added in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and Nevada.  More recently Dansu International was established to address the market's growing demand for import millwork and specialty wood products as also the acquisition of two subsidiaries -Components and Millwork, Inc. and Sunrise Wood Products - to meet the increasing need for materials that add value to the products on offer. The company provides products and services in many customer categories: Retail Lumber Yards, Chain and Local Home Centers, Pre-Hung Door Shops, Cabinet Shops, Millwork Houses, Sign Shops, Display Fabricators, Door Manufacturers, Original Equipment Manufacturers, Mobile Home Manufacturers, Modular Home Manufacturers, Window and Door Stores, Glass Shops, Insulation Companies.
 
In 1986, Lumber Products formed an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) to provide employees with an ownership interest in Lumber Products as the management recognized the vital role its employees play in achieving  the company goal of exceeding customer expectations; making it an employee-owned company. In 1991, the company moved its headquarters from the original Portland location to its current location in Tualatin. With over 60 years as a family-owned and now an employee-owned company, Lumber Products intends to maintain its standard of excellent customer service, providing value-added products that increase profitability for all customers.
