Minn Tech was established in 1985 in Rochester, Minnesota. Medivators developed its first product, the Ott Disinfector for flexible endoscopes, through a licensing agreement with the Mayo Clinic in 1986. The company headquarters were then relocated to Cannon Falls, Minnesota in 1987 to start in house manufacturing of the Ott Disinfector. From next several years, hundreds of the Ott machines were sold worldwide.

In March 1996, Medivators was acquired by Cantel Industries, Inc. (since renamed Cantel Medical Corp), a New Jersey holding company that also owns Carsen Group Inc., MedivatorsÂâ€Ã¢„¢ Canadian distributor. Cantel is a healthcare company concentrating primarily in infection prevention and control products and diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment.
