Sycamore Engineering Inc (SEI) was started in 1960 and itÂâ€Ã¢„¢s owned and operated by the Dinkel family since its inception. The company has grown to include complete mechanical, electrical and construction service related activities. SEI engineering department operates under the name Dinkel Associates Inc which is specializes in mechanical and electrical design projects.
SEI service area includes commercial, industrial, and institutional projects like heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical work, temperature control wiring, data cabling, carpentry work, concrete work, plumbing and high voltage. SEI employees are expertise in pipefitting, licensed electricians, HVAC specialist, sheet metal workers, certified welders, data/communication specialist, carpenters and laborers.
SEI is an active member of the organizations like NECA, SMACNA, MCA, Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Terre Haute, Wabash Valley Community Foundation and Kiwanis Club of Terre Haute, etc.
Sycamore employs more than 20 licensed welders who have completed training for Code R welding.
Sycamore Engineering participated in the 2001, 2002, 2003 American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Sycamore was responsible for the race site preparation, coordination, and direction. Sycamore personnel also held the positions of Race Chairman, Event Director, Track Marshall, and various other positions during the event. The services provided by Sycamore Engineering were donated to the Hoverclub of America.
Sycamore Engineering completed the projects like as Union Hospital Complex, Rose-Hulman Projects, ISU Power House, and Hulman Field FAA, etc. There are service fleet of 15 vehicles which are fully equipped for all types of HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration and electrical service. SEI adds dimension of designing and building mechanical and electrical systems by AutoCAD. SEI sheet metal fabrication shop is equipped with bending and cutting machines and provides computerized cutting machines. The Sycamore pipe fabrication shop is equipped with 6 pipe fabrication areas and most of the welding for jobs can be completed prior to delivery to the site. The first activity of Sycamore Engineering was to build control panels, which was an important part of business. Mechanical room piping and pumps on large buildings can be extensive. Rooftop HVAC units need sky cranes to set and network and electrical wiring for large buildings are extensively done.
