The Singing River Electric was organized on August 31, 1938. Singing River Electric Power Association is an electric distribution cooperative serving over 63,202 customers in southeast Mississippi. The company maintains over 6,386 miles of line in Jackson, George, Greene, Harrison, Perry, and Wayne counties in Mississippi as well as Mobile and Washington counties in Alabama. The companyÂâ€Ã¢„¢s headquarters is located in Lucedale, with branch offices in Gautier, and Sand Hill. 
 
Singing River Electric provides service in developing a customized outdoor lighting solution for home and business. Safety education is serious business. Singing River Electric fulfills its commitment of safety education to their community and employees through safety demonstrations, safety advertisements, and monthly safety meetings for their employees. Singing River Electric presents an on-site electric safety presentation to about 11,000 students and residents in the community annually.

Singing River's routine right of way clearance program helps prevent power interruptions by trimming or removing trees and brush within 15 feet of primary wires and 5 feet of secondary wires. The companyÂâ€Ã¢„¢s contract line re clearing crews are trained in proper tree trimming and cropping techniques and they take steps to protect the health of trees.
