Seward Motor Freight was established in the early 1940's to transport freight between Omaha and Seward, Nebraska. After having changed ownership several times through the years, Wayne and Joan Tanderup purchased and incorporated the business in 1969. At the time they purchased the business, the company had seven employees working for them. Seward Motor Freight, Inc. is a truckload carrier with a 48 State Authority. A major part of the business comes from Illinois to Utah, but expansion into the southeastern and southwestern states has continued to grow. Dry vans (53' x 102") are available to suit our customers' needs.  

Seward Motor Freight moved to a new six and a half acre office, which included a fleet maintenance facility at I-80 and Highway 15 in 1985. In the summer of 1989, a two-story brick building was added onto the 1985 facility. The office now houses the accounting, dispatch and billing departments as well as the drivers' lounge. Today Seward Motor Freight operates 170 tractors and 400 trailers across the country. The company presently employs approximately 200 people.

The Company offers excellent driver incentives. These include; 2 Cent per mile quarterly safety/performance bonus, 2 Cent per mile bonus for those who run 12,000+ miles a month, for all the miles driven that month, Up to 5.5 Cents per mile monthly fuel incentive, Dry van, 85% no-touch, Your own dispatcher, Assigned trucks, No NYC, Average 40% or less idle are eligible for $150 drawing and driver with the lowest idle time each month receives $100. In addition to this the company also has a student driver-training program. Seward Motor Freight, Inc. will pay the tuition and books for any qualified student to attend an accepted truck driving school, provided that the student makes a commitment to work for the company following graduation. An additional minimum six weeks over-the-road training with a certified trainer will then be required before becoming eligible to be a driver for Seward Motor Freight.
