Dan and Mildred Schantz purchased a farm in Lehigh County, ten miles south of Allentown, Pennsylvania, in 1957. The companyÂâ€Ã¢„¢s main crops were fruits and vegetables, which were retailed at local farmer's markets and a road stand.
The companyÂâ€Ã¢„¢s road stand business extended, the farm operation developed and branched into the greenhouse production of bedding plants. Their 22' by 100' greenhouse was built in 1961. After 40 years, their greenhouse range covers over 20 acres and they operate ultra modern greenhouses with Argus computerized controlled environmental system; floor flooded watering and their own bulb coolers with a capability of holding over 4 million bulbs. For the fall season the company grows over 900 acres of fall ornamentals.
The company presently operating a tight year round schedule, the company grows Mother's Day Flowers, Valentine's Day, Easter, Vegetable Plants, Bedding plants, Poinsettias Perennials, Herbs, Garden Mums, Blooming Specialty Plants and Flowering & Foliage Hanging Baskets. The company retailing as the foundation of their business, quality and customer satisfaction has always been their number one objective.
The company has 40 years experience in selecting, growing and forcing holiday bulbs.
The company grows the best bulbs and staring with large size bulbs shipped direct from Holland, planted into their own special soil mix for bulbs and then cooled in their bulb coolers until greenhouse ready.

Dan Schantz was selected Master Farmer of Pennsylvania in 1987, a lifetime achievement award. Dan Schantz has served as president of the Marketing & Research Board for Pennsylvania Agriculture. As a leader in Pennsylvania Horticulture, Dan takes great pride in struggling for the highest quality crops.
