Richard Truman, the current CEO, founded Pan Western Corporation in 1970 as a regional flatbed carrier, offering services to the Los Angeles basin. Among the latest equipment owned and operated by trained staff at Pan Western are a well-maintained fleet of trucks that have flatbeds to 48 feet, vans to 53 feet, step decks, curtain vans, refrigerated units and long vehicle combinations. The local division steps in to offer services for pipeline, construction and manufacturing and the equipment needs here include flatbeds to 48Ââ€Ã¢„¢, end dumps, double belly dumps and rocky mountain doubles. Pan WesternÂâ€Ã¢„¢s Heavy Haul, Specialized Transport & Rigging division addresses customersÂâ€Ã¢„¢ needs for transport of oversized and overweight equipment, which may be transformers to 85 tons, 24Ââ€Ã¢„¢ wide aircraft fuselage, and up to 180Ââ€Ã¢„¢ long vessels.  Available equipment includes 5 - 9 axel steerableÂâ€Ã¢„¢s, Double Drops, 700 ton gantry with power trolleys and 120ft. of track with capability to lift 41ft., along with miscellaneous jeeps and dollies. Pan WesternÂâ€Ã¢„¢s current fuel surcharge is 35% at $2.97 / Gallon.
