Pennzoil-Quaker State Company was acquired by Shell Oil Company in October 2002 and in the summer of the following year, it began doing business as SOPUS Products. Combining Shell lubricant's networks and infrastructure and Pennzoil-Quaker State Company's leading motor oil brands, portfolio of car care brands and Jiffy Lube stores, the new company is a leader in the U.S. lubricants and car care business.

Quaker State Corporation has been created in 1931 by a consolidation of 19 companies and on December 30, 1998, it was merged with Pennzoil Company's marketing, manufacturing and fast oil change businesses to form Pennzoil-Quaker State Company, a worldwide leader in consumer automotive products and vehicle care. Today Quaker State is a leading brand in the United States motor oil category, both in share and innovation, its products specially formulated for a vehicleÂâ€Ã¢„¢s engine, and marketed in over 45 countries around the world.

The companyÂâ€Ã¢„¢s products are aimed at fine-tuning vehicles as it realizes that different are the needs of each one. The engineers and scientists at Quaker State are committed to creating products that help a vehicle perform its best. So the company has a line of motor oils for peak performance in vehicles that are in their prime, to give higher mileage to certain engines, oils that are meant for engines with over 75,000 miles, Synthetic Blend for 4x4s, SUVs and Trucks for hard-working engines, Synthetic Blend for High Horsepower Engines and Full Synthetic for Advanced engines. These oils protect the engine and the company offers a 10-year/250,000 mile limited warranty, even if the customer wishes to change his current use oil.

The company also has a unique line of products to service other needs for vehicles like oil filters, transmission fluids, gear oils, greases, antifreeze, air filters and selected functional fluids, such as brake and power steering fluids that can meet and most times, even exceed the latest manufacturer specifications.
