Irwin Electric Membership Corporation is a service cooperative and is owned by those who receive services.  The company is a not for profit electric utility that supplies energy to around 7,000 members in south central Georgia. The company was started in 1936 to supply electricity to people in this rural area that investor owned utilities refused to serve. The corporation headquartered located in Ocilla and serves members in Berrien, Tift, Turner, Irwin, Ben Hill and Wilcox Counties. Irwin EMC is customer local Touchstone Energy Cooperative. The Touchstone Energy symbol is customer assurance that they are a community minded electric cooperative providing high standards of service for customers large and small.
Touchstone Energy is an alliance of local, consumer owned utilities around the country, dedicated to providing superior service at reasonable price to all customers. Their values are accountability, integrity, innovation and dedicated to community. The company is firmly believed in the power of human connections.
