In 1953, TXI expanded its operations and market by acquiring Fort Worth Sand & Gravel Company. Throughout its first decade in business, the company continued to increase production capacity by rebuilding existing plants and acquiring facilities as far away as Minnesota, Iowa and Missouri.

Today, TXI is the largest producer of cement in Texas, a major producer in California and a leading North American recycling company. It also has strong, competitive positions in aggregate and concrete operations in both states. TXI is a leading supplier of building materials, including cement, concrete and aggregate. With operations in six states, the company is the largest producer of cement in Texas and a major producer in California. TXI is a major supplier of stone, sand, gravel and expanded shale and clay products, and one of the largest producers of bagged cement and concrete products in the Southwest.

TXI Energy Services provides specialized drilling products and petrochemical support services to the energy industry. Consistent with TXI's business practices, Energy Services uses only quality ingredients and methods to manufacture products that achieve superior results.
