Herschell Farmer became president of the company in 1952 after 23 years of continued success, turned the helm over to his son, Richard. The company entered the uniform rental business in 1965, a move that would dramatically reshape the company and revolutionize the uniform marketplace. The company was the industry pioneer in introducing polyester-cotton blend fabric that doubled the life of uniforms and made cleaning more efficient.

Cintas-Rus Inc is the largest uniform supplier in North America, with more than 700,000 clients. The Company has 351 facilities across North America, including 14 manufacturing plants and seven distribution centers employing more than 30,000 people.

The company also maintains one of the most loyal employee bases in the industry, helping the company record its 36th consecutive year of growth in sales and earnings in FY 2005. The company has grown for 36 consecutive years, with fiscal 2005 sales of $3.07 billion, a nine percent increase from last year's $2.81 billion. The company net income of $300.5 million increased 10.4 percent from $272.2 million last year.

They design, manufacture, and implement corporate identity uniform programs, provide entrance mats, promotional products, restroom supplies, and first aid and safety products for over 700,000 businesses. The company has grown for 36 consecutive years, through all economic cycles. During this 36-year period, their sales have grown at a compound rate of 22 percent and their profit has grown at a rate of 29 percent.
