Nickolas Savko has started as a contractor placing concrete and digging basement foundations in the central Ohio area and serving a 12 county area throughout central Ohio. Nickolas Savko & Sons, Inc. maintains a state-of-the-art computer system for estimating, scheduling, accounting and equipment tracking from its 6,000 sq. ft. office and 30,000 sq. ft. maintenance and warehouse facilities, situated on a 17 acre site in northwest Columbus.
On average the company moves over a million yards of earth each year, which represents numerous residential subdivisions and commercial developments. Site preparation is the foundation that is vital to the success of any land development. It takes a company with the right equipment to handle the job, but more importantly, it takes a company with the experience to do it right.
The company has pioneered new ideas and technologies in building concrete streets and curbs. The "Super Paver", which was designed and built by companyÂâ€Ã¢„¢s own personnel in the company facilities, placed 2,500 cubic yards of concrete in a single day. This type of specialized equipment which combined with their experienced personnel has placed over 500 miles of streets and curbs throughout the Central Ohio area.
CompanyÂâ€Ã¢„¢s Roller-compacted concrete (RCC) made its first appearance in North America during the 1970Ââ€Ã¢„¢s. RCC pavements eliminate common and costly problems traditionally associated with asphalt pavements. It will resist rutting, span soft localized sub-grades, and will not deform under heavy, concentrated loads. RCC pavements do not deteriorate from spills of fuel, hydraulic fluids and will not soften under high temperatures. RCC is mainly used for roadways, commercial and industrial buildings, truck terminals, warehouse-distribution centers, airports and schools and institutions.
In the contracting industry, wet soil conditions and cracked or failed asphalt require special attention for effective solutions. Lime and cement products combined with their experience with wet soils, enables them to perform compacted fills under the most difficult conditions. Company stabilizes sub-grades for immediate placement of floors or pavements. In addition, they often reclaim existing asphalt parking lots and streets with the base using cement/lime products to produce a long lasting more durable sub-base.
Nickolas Savko & Sons, Inc. is dedicated to exceeding the clients' needs and goals, by providing the highest quality of service and materials in a timely manner and within budget.
