CANTEX INC., a leading producer of polyvinyl Chloride products moves their corporate headquarters to the heart of downtown Fort Worth, Texas. CANTEX currently operates three manufacturing plants, a state of the art distribution center, as well as its headquarters and sales and marketing operations from the approximately 70 acre complex in Mineral Wells, Texas, which they have occupied since 1946, when the company began as a clay pipe producer.
CANTEX products business began over 40 years ago when it was a division of a national corporation in the utility and building construction industry. In 1992, CANTEX was acquired buy Sumitomo Corporation of America, a fully integrated trading and investment enterprise with offices in 10 major U.S. cities.
CANTEX is a leading producer of PVC channel products with eight manufacturing facilities located strategically nationwide. These facilities feature some of the most modern production equipment and advanced process technology found anywhere in the industry. Production facilities include extrusion, injection molding and fabrication processes to produce the broad lines of PVC products which serve the power, utility, building construction and communication markets.
Their Plastics Division grew steadily in size and importance. Its product lines expanded into several major categories Electrical distributors and contractors were provided with a broad line of PVC conduit and fittings. Power and utility companies were supplied with underground PVC duct and fittings. For the communications industry, PVC conduit and fittings were made available to telephone and cable companies for underground cable       installations. Municipal public works needs were met with PVC pipe for distribution and collection. The commercial market need was fulfilled with PVC plumbing pipe.

CANTEX actively supports those organizations which set standards and promote professional practices in the electrical industry. These include National Electrical Manufacturers Representative Association, National Academy of Emergency Dispatch and International Association of Electrical Inspectors along with other associations in the construction industry.
