Seeing the need and potential of a wood products manufacturing plant which could produce showcases and mantels Cochrane Furniture had its beginning with John Cochrane in 1905. In 1928, the company was incorporated as Cochrane Furniture Company Incorporated, the name it bears today.
The quality products that Cochrane produces today include bedroom, dining and living room furniture using a diversity of lumbers including maples and oaks and having an assortment of styles to choose.
Since the fireplace was an irresistible necessity for homes built throughout the country, John Cochrane felt that every home should have a decorative and unusual mantel. In the early 1930Ãƒ‚Ã¢€Ã¢„Ãƒ‚¢s the company, under the operation of John CochraneÃƒ‚Ã¢€Ã¢„Ãƒ‚¢s four sons, produced oak and pine dining room tables and chairs as the companyÃƒ‚Ã¢€Ã¢„Ãƒ‚¢s leading products. As sales amplified, the company began adding to the line by producing china cabinets, servers and dry sinks to complete the dining room. Early American Furniture became popular and Cochrane began using hard maples as the primary lumber and the maple leaf was added to the logo.
In 1987 Cochrane Furniture saw a requirement for yet another addition to complete thehome and began producing living room furniture. The addition paved the wayfor another successful offering in the line. Cochrane Upholstery now producesquality living room products with a myriad of styles including traditional, casual, country, transitional and contemporary.
Through the years Cochrane Furniture has met the desires and challenges of producing furniture to complete the home and now offers a much more diversified line.
