Yellow Launches Next-Day Service With 98 Percent On-Time Perfomance


OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Feb. 23Yellow Transportation has successfully launched its next-day service with a 98 percent on-time performance record. The next-day offering is the newest service capability provided through Yellow Standard Ground.

"Our next-day operating performance in the first week was nearly flawless," says James L. Welch, president and CEO of Yellow Transportation. "We did an awesome job right out of the gate. I am very pleased with the way Yellow employees are meeting the service needs of our customers in the next-day market."

The initial offering spans an area extending from Wisconsin through upstate New York and from northern Michigan into Tennessee; expansion of next-day service capabilities is anticipated, given the success of Phase One. The new Yellow service expands a portfolio of market-leading transportation capabilities including regional, national, global, guaranteed, expedited and North American cross-border shipping.
