Just with a single tractor- trailer, Ezzell Trucking Inc, was founded in 1951 in the city of Harrells, North Carolina. Now the company has grown to have three more terminals in Charlotte, Wilmington (both in North Carolina) and Bishopville in South Carolina. 

Ezzell's safety department won an award for its program educating its drivers about company policies and DOT regulations. These types of programs have made Ezzell Trucking a company with high standards.

Equipment is an area of much investment for Ezzell Trucking since it is important to get the new models and a well maintained fleet. Today, the company has 150 tractors and 450 trailes. Their service is made to attend Ezzells customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The trucks gear Qualcomm two way satellite which provides the load tracking information to the customer.

Ezzell Trucking has special divisions focused on the customers' needs. Dry Van division has two terminals in Charlotte and Wilmington; its work consists in regional short haul dry van freight. The Wood Chip division transports wood products through Harrells, Wilmington, Greenville, Henderson, Laurinburg, Marshville and others. This division carries over 300 loads every day between the Carolinas and Virginia. Finally, the Coke division has worked since 1997; its operation center is located in Bishopville, South Carolina. It has 40 drivers who move 90 loads per day through Carolinas and Virginia.
