Wal-Mart has chosen Crete Carrier Corporation as its dedicated carrier for its new Grocery Distribution Center in Bartlesville, Okla.
Crete's dedicated fleet will deliver dry goods, perishable and frozen foods to Wal-Mart locations in Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. The program started with 55 drivers on May 15, the first day of operations, and is expected to increase to 80 by September 2005.
Andy Devine was named project manager for the Bartlesville fleet, and will put together Crete's onsite office staff and maintenance team.
Crete now has two dedicated fleets that service Wal-Mart. The other is based in North Platte, Neb.Wal-Mart is the world's largest retailer with 3,600 stores located throughout the United States and the world.
